The head of Turkmenistan laid flowers at the memorial “national memory”

The "Halk hakydasy" memorial complex in the Turkmen capital has become the epicenter of celebrations held in the country on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the great Victory, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

The festive events, which were attended by the President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan, General of the army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, began with a traditional ceremony of laying flowers at the monuments of the memorial complex "people's memory".

Young soldiers, successors of military traditions of the Turkmen people, stood in the honor guard. Magnificent wreaths from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were laid at the foot of the three majestic monuments of the complex.

Following the head of state, flowers were laid at the memorials by the Mejlis Chairman, Deputy Prime Ministers, and heads of military and law enforcement agencies accompanying him.

They were followed by the heads of public organizations and the chairmen of committees of the Mejlis. Flowers from veterans of the great Patriotic war, elders, honorary home front workers and widows of war participants were laid at the foot of the obelisk of military valor.

Flowers were laid by guests invited to the ceremony, including Deputy Minister of defense of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Alexander Fomin and members of the accompanying delegation, representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as deputies of the Mejlis, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of military and law enforcement agencies, and public organizations of the country.

Numerous residents of Ashgabat and guests of the Turkmen capital also came to pay tribute to the National Heroes.
