Today, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Dashoguz velayat, where he visited the main mosque of the region, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The building of the mosque, which was laid in 2013 and opened in 2015 by the head of state, was built in the best traditions of national architecture. The complex, which covers an area of 60 thousand square meters, also has a pavilion for “sadaka” for 1,500 people and a three-story hotel that can accommodate 200 pilgrims at a time.
The head of state, along with the elders, went to the mosque, where the mufti of Turkmenistan offered a prayer to the Almighty for the welfare of the country, unity and unity of the Turkmen people.
Today, the main mosque of the Dashoguz velayat displays a sacred relic-a canvas with the inscription of the Holy Kaaba inscribed on it, sent to the Turkmen leader as a memorial gift from Mecca. There is also a sacred “teperik”. This Shrine is displayed in mosques in the country so that believers in all regions can worship it.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave “sadaka” at the expense of royalties in the building intended for holding ritual meals.
Addressing the audience with a welcoming speech, the head of state noted that all conditions are created in the country for the people to observe national customs. The construction of mosques in the velayats clearly testifies to the continuation of traditions that have come down to us from our ancestors.
Recently, the President of Turkmenistan visited the main mosques in the Lebap and Mary velayats. And today, in the main mosque of the Dashoguz velayat, “sadaka” is given in the name of the prosperity of the country, a prosperous and peaceful life of the people.
Dashoguz velayat also achieves high results in all areas. Objects and buildings for industrial and socio-cultural purposes are regularly built and put into operation in the region. New settlements, residential complexes, schools, kindergartens, sports facilities increase the beauty of the region.
All this work is aimed at the welfare of the people and will continue, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
The President also touched upon the topic of celebrating the 25th anniversary of the legal status of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan. Neutrality means brotherhood and friendship, good-neighborliness and peaceful life, the head of state said. Guided by this status, our sovereign state develops friendly and fraternal relations with the countries of the world and pursues a peaceful and humane policy.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also noted that there are many historical and cultural monuments located on the territory of the Dashoguz velayat. The ancient city of Kunyaurgench, the mausoleum of the great “Pir Najmeddin Kubra”, and the tomb of “360 Pirs” are famous sacred places in the world. Today, all conditions have been created for the population of our country to make a pilgrimage to Holy places, the head of state said.
The mufti of the country read the prayer "tabarak", followed by a ritual meal. At its end was lifted up a word of prayer "ayat-towir".
After saying a warm goodbye to the audience, the President left the scene of the event.
