Turkmen footballer Ahmet Atayev returns to FC Altyn Asyr

FC Altyn Asyr have announced the return of midfielder Ahmet Atayev on a free transfer. The 29-year-old Atayev previously played for FC Altyn Asur from 2014 to 2017. The contract with the midfielder was concluded before the end of 2020 season, the official website of the Football Federation of Turkmenistan reports.

Ahmet Atayev’s last club was the Malaysian Sabah FA. In the Malaysia Premier League 2019, he spent 8 matches for his club and scored one goal. In August 2019, he received a serious injury, because of which he was out of order for six months. 

Turkmen footballer Ahmet Atayev was born on September 19, 1990 in the village of Bagyr in the city of Ashgabat. He began to play football at the age of 6, the first coach Atamyrat Jumamyradov in the Bagyr Youth Sports School.

From 2007 to 2010, he played for the FC Talyp Sporty. He spent the first half of the 2011 season at the FC Ashgabat. The second part is in the FC HTTU, in which it won the Turkmenistan Cup for the first time in 2011, and in 2013 for the first time became the champion of Turkmenistan. From 2014 to 2017, he played for FC Altyn Asyr, in which, in 2014, 2015, 2016, he won the title of champion of Turkmenistan and the Turkmenistan Cup 2015, 2016, as well as the Turkmenistan Super Cup 2015. At the end of the 2015 season, he was recognized as the best player in the championship of Turkmenistan, and also entered the top 10 athletes of 2015 in Turkmenistan.

Since August 2017, he began to play in the Indonesian Premier League  for the Arema FC, which included a total of 25 matches and scored 3 goals. In June 2018, Ahmet Atayev  moved to the Indonesian club Persela Lamongan, for which he played until 2018.

He was called up to the Olympic team of Turkmenistan for the AFC Pre-Olympic Tournament in 2011. For the national team he made his debut in 2012 in a friendly match against Romania. He played for the national team of Turkmenistan at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup in UAE.
