A representative of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, Begmuhammet Mommayev, joined the organizing committee of the professional tennis tournament ATP 250 Almaty Open, which was held from October 13 to 20 in Almaty. This is the first time a Turkmen specialist has been involved in organizing competitions of this level, notes the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.

The ATP 250 Almaty Open tournament with a prize fund of over 1 million USD brought together 32 professional tennis players from 15 countries. The winner of the competition was Russian Karen Khachanov, ranked 21st in the ATP world rankings, who beat Canadian Gabriel Diallo in the final with a score of 6:2, 5:7, 6:3.

“It is a great honor for me to be invited as one of the organizers of this star tournament”, - said Mommayev, who currently holds the position of director of the Tennis Complex in the Olympic Village of Ashgabat and works as a coach in the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan.

During the ATP 250 Almaty Open, Begmuhammet Mommayev was responsible for coordinating participants, organizing registration, preparing the venue, monitoring the implementation of the event schedule, ensuring the timely distribution of materials, supporting staff during the tournament, as well as assisting in resolving any organizational issues and eliminating problems that arise.

It is noteworthy that the invitation of the Turkmen specialist coincided with the recognition of the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan as one of the fastest growing organizations in Asia by the decision of the General Assembly of the Asian Tennis Federation.
