“Turkmengaz” state concern to sign contract with Japanese company Kawasaki

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree today allowing the state concern "Turkmengaz" to conclude a contract with the Japanese company "Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd" to provide consulting services in the management of a plant for the production of gasoline from gas in Akhal, the press service of the head of state reported.

The world's first gas gasoline production plant in Ovadandepe was opened on June 28, 2019 with the participation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The GTG (Gas to gasoline) project, based on the TIGAS technology of the Danish company Haldor Topsoe, is aimed at the annual processing of 1 billion 785 million cubic meters of "blue fuel" and the production of 600 thousand tons of a-92 gasoline (RON-92) that meets the highest environmental requirements according to the Euro-5 standard, as well as 12 thousand tons of refined diesel fuel and 115 thousand tons of liquefied gas. The complex was built by the joint efforts of the state concern "Turkmengaz" and the consortium of companies "Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd." (Japan) and "Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Inşaat Sanaýi ve Ticaret A. Ş.” (Turkey). The total cost of this investment project is almost 1 billion 700 million US dollars. The Japanese Bank for international cooperation (JBIC) participated in its financing.
