Vegetable growers of the Akhal velayat in 2019 exceeded state orders and received rich harvests of potatoes on 1580 hectares, onions-on 600 hectares, tomatoes - on 495 hectares, cucumbers-on 45 hectares, cabbage-on 160 hectares, carrots-on 400 hectares, melons-on 1905 hectares. This is a significant contribution to the creation of food abundance in the country, especially since Akhal vegetables and melons are famous for their high environmental friendliness.
The construction of modern industrial greenhouses in velayat is becoming more and more popular. For example, last year two greenhouses were built in The Kaka etrap: the daikhan farm "Röwşen-Rahym" and the economic society "Yigit". Several high-yielding varieties of tomatoes are grown here. The capacity of the complex has increased to the production of 12 thousand 500 tons of tomatoes annually, the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" writes.
