Questions of preparation for carrying out in Turkmenistan in 2021 the world championship in track Cycling, and in 2026 – world Cup road Cycling has been discussed today by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with the honorary President of the Cycling Federation of Russia and a member of the Steering Committee of the International Cycling Union (UCI), the head of an international group of companies ARETI Igor Makarov.
Expressing gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his support in organizing these major competitions, Igor Makarov, who, being an experienced athlete, made his first steps in Cycling in Ashgabat, stressed that due to the selfless activity of the head of state, our country has all the necessary opportunities and the corresponding modern infrastructure, the state news Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
In June, by the resolution of the head of state, the organizing committee for the 2021 track Cycling world championship was established in Turkmenistan and its composition was approved. The decision on holding in Ashgabat of the world Cup 2021 in track Cycling was announced on September 2018 at a special ceremony in Innsbruck, Austria President of the International Cycling Union (UCI) David Lappartiene. The competition will take place on a cycle track in the Olympic town, where the V Asian indoor and martial arts games were held in 2017.
