Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee Announces Official Boxing Schedule

The Organizing Committee of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo has unveiled the official boxing competition schedule for the multi-sport event, Inside the Games reports.

According to information, the fight for Olympic medals in boxing will take place from July 25 to August 9, 2020, at the Ryogoku Kokugikan arena. On the first day, men in the welterweight, light heavy and heavyweight groups, as well as women in the featherweight category, will enter the ring. Final fights will start on August 4. The last day of the tournament coincides with the final day of the Tokyo Olympics. The full tournament schedule can be found here.

Recall that the regional qualifying competitions for the Games should be held from January to April 2020. Recent licenses will be played in May. The qualifying world championship will be held in the same month. The team of Turkmenistan before the World Cup will be able to win licenses in competitions among the countries of Asia and Oceania.

Since the beginning of 2019, the national boxing team of Turkmenistan has been led by Ukrainian coach Vladimir Dvortsov.
