On the eve in Ashgabat, a concert of Italian music was held, with the participation of one of the most talented Italian pianist Roberto Prosseda, together with Turkmen musicians from the youth chamber orchestra conducted by Rasul Klychev. The concert was held on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the death of the famous Italian composer Nino Rota. The event was initiated by the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan together with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.

After the concert, the correspondent of Turkmenportal managed to take an exclusive interview with the virtuoso Roberto Prosseda.

— How did you like to play with Turkmen musicians?

— It was a very beautiful experience, I am very happy about how we played together. I think this is a great idea from the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan to organize this concert, as an occasion sharing Italian and Turkmen music. I was very happy to see this orchestra playing compositions with me by Nino Rota and by Alberto Fano. They play with real enthusiasm and they enjoyed it. This is a very great result I think. There is a very good orchestra with good potential and hope this orchestra can play more, maybe also outside Turkmenistan. More Italian musicians, conductors and soloists can come here to play with the orchestra in the future.

— How do you evaluate the quality of Turkmen musicians as an expert in this field?

— I gave a master class to young piano players yesterday and I was happy to dare their piano playing. The orchestra can play very well, they are very young, they will need to make experiences with people more reputation and if more concerts they do better they will play.

— Please, share the significance of organizing such an anniversary concert in Turkmenistan?

— Actually, in June 2nd we celebrated the Festa della Repubblica (Italian Republic Day). This concert has been organized by the Italian Embassy, particularly Italian music and particularly Nino Rota who is the greatest Italian composer in the XX century.  I think he is not enough well known the importance of his music. He wrote famous kinds of music and symphony. I think his music’s first time playing in Turkmenistan. I think this also an important task that the Italian Embassy does to bring foreign cultures here and to organize more sharing culture and art between Turkmen people and foreign artists.

— What is most important for you in music?

— Well, music means sharing emotions. Music is the way of living which is the best way possible. Music helps to understand our feelings and to live in a deep away, and to be more aware states of the emotions, to be able to express them to other people and even recognize them in yourself any other people. If you are a good musician you live a better life and you can even effect lives, other people.
