KAMAZ plans to conclude a contract with Turkmenistan for the supply of one thousand cars a year

The Russian truck manufacturer KAMAZ plans to conclude a contract with Turkmenistan for the supply of about one thousand cars a year in 2019, TASS news agency reports, the company's general director Sergei Kogogin told reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

“Negotiations were held (with Turkmenistan) at the highest level, a contract is being prepared now. We count on his conclusion this year”, - said Sergey Kogogin. He noted that we are talking about exporting up to 1 thousand cars a year.

Turkmenistan is one of the largest and stable sales markets for KAMAZ products. Over the period 2008-2018, more than 9,000 units of KAMAZ trucks and special vehicles were delivered to our country. These trucks and special vehicles are widely used in various sectors of the local economy, and a KAMAZ dealer network has been established in Turkmenistan operating in Ashgabat, Balkanabat, Mary and Turkmenabat.

Earlier, at the meeting with the President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov praised cooperation with KAMAZ, Tatneft, Kazan Helicopter Plant and others.

St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is held from 6 to 8 June 2019. Forum events are united by the motto “Forming the agenda of sustainable development”. The governmental delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov takes part in this forum.
