Turkmenistan celebrates 20th anniversary of OSCE Center in Ashgabat

Today, in the Yyldyz Hotel, the OSCE Center in Ashgabat organized a solemn reception dedicated to the 20th anniversary of its opening. The event was attended by the  Secretary General of the OSCE Thomas Greminger, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and staff of international organizations accredited in our country, and journalists who were visiting the Turkmen capital.

The OSCE Center in Ashgabat, established in 1999, assists Turkmenistan in fulfilling OSCE commitments.

Over the years, the activities of the Center, led by Ambassador Natalia Drozd, have steadily expanded in accordance with the priorities and needs of the country and the emerging global and regional challenges. The OSCE Center has always welcomed the initiatives of Turkmenistan, contributing to the strengthening of stability and security, and is building its activities in such a way as to assist the country in the practical implementation of its initiatives. In his speech, the Secretary General of the OSCE  Thomas Greminger congratulated those present on a significant date, noting the high level of the Organization’s partnership with Turkmenistan. Expressing sincere gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the contribution of our country to expanding cooperation with the states of the European region and international organizations, the OSCE head emphasized the high interest of the structure he heads in further strengthening productive interaction with Turkmenistan.


All the guests of the evening were able to enjoy the best dishes of the national Turkmen cuisine. A special celebration for them was the performance of artists who performed dances and works of Turkmen folk music. A photo exhibition dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the opening of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat was launched on the walls of the conference hall of the Yyldyz Hotel.
