A two-way road with a width of 22.5 meters will be built along the highway from the city of Turkmenbashi to the border with Kazakhstan with a length of 225 kilometers, and associated infrastructure facilities will be built, a bridge will be built across the Garabogazgol bay with a length of 354 meters and a width of the carriageway of 21 meters. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister D. Amangeldiev at the meeting of the Government, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The construction of the road and the bridge to the Turkmen-Kazakh border will increase the turnover, the volume of passenger and traffic flow between the western and northern regions of the country, as well as neighboring countries. The Turkmen leader was presented design sketches of these objects.
In this regard, the President stressed that every effort should be made to ensure that the Ashgabat-Turkmenbashi high-speed autobahn under construction fully meets international standards and contributes to strengthening our country's role as a transport and transit corridor, the head of state said.
