A monument to Turkmen poet Fragi was unveiled in Afghanistan after restoration

The monument to the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy was officially unveiled in the Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, Balkh Province, following the completion of repairs and restoration work. This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Representatives of the Turkmen diaspora and staff of the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Afghanistan participated in the ceremony. The restoration of the monument was initiated by Haji Mohammad Hashim Wali Zada, Chairman of the Akyol public and cultural organization, with financial support from the country's Turkmen community.

The opening was also attended by the Mayor of Mazar-i-Sharif, Abdul Rahman Hammet, the head of the Afghan Foreign Ministry's office in Balkh Province, Mawlawi Aminuallah Sadiq, religious figures, teachers, cultural figures, and representatives of public organizations.

Speakers at the event emphasized that the poet's literary legacy is significant not only for the Turkmen people but for global culture as a whole. The role of Magtymguly Pyragy's work in nurturing the younger generation in the national spirit was particularly noted. The opening ceremony was hailed as further evidence of efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.
