On March 30, a festival dedicated to the Nowruz holiday was held at the Grand Hotel Vienna in Vienna. The event was organized by the embassies of countries celebrating Nowruz in collaboration with the Diplomatic Society magazine.
Turkmenistan was represented at the festival by an embassy stand, where guests were treated to national dishes. A Turkmen fashion show was also held: Turkmen students studying in the Austrian capital showcased national clothing, jewelry, and products made from Turkmen silk—keteni.
Within the framework of the festival, embassies of Turkic-speaking states accredited in Vienna presented national cuisine, traditional costumes, and handicrafts. The program included performances by folk groups.
Among the festival's guests were members of the board of the Austrian-Turkmen Society, headed by Neda Berger. According to her, the Turkmenistan stand generated great interest, and the festival atmosphere itself left a lasting impression. On behalf of the society, Berger welcomed the guests and thanked the event's organizers. She spoke to Turkmenportal about this.
The festival's participants and guests also included representatives of diplomatic missions, public organizations, international structures, and the media.
