During the spring break in Ashgabat, preparatory courses were held from March 24 to 28 at the Saparmurat Turkmenbashy Specialized Boarding School for gifted students from Turkmenistan's secondary schools selected to participate in international Olympiads in physics, computer science, chemistry, biology, geography, and astronomy.
According to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the goal of the courses is to prepare Turkmen schoolchildren for participation in international Olympiads, which will be held in various countries around the world in 2026, and to ensure the successful performance of national teams in the Olympiads.
63 gifted schoolchildren, students in grades 8–12 from all regions of the country, took part in the preparatory courses.
The classes, organized by the National Institute of Education in accordance with the order of the Minister of Education "On the Preparation of Schoolchildren for International Olympiads," were taught by teachers from Turkmenistan's universities.
During the preparatory courses, the students also visited museums and historical and cultural monuments in Ashgabat.
