Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has ordered timely preparations for the silkworm cocoon production season. This instruction was given during a working meeting via videoconference with Minister of Agriculture Charyar Chetiyev and regional leaders, as reported by the Watan news program.

In order to fulfill the established plan for cocoon production and provide specialized enterprises with raw materials, contracts with producers are currently being finalized, and silkworm breeding grounds and production facilities are being prepared for the upcoming season.

The meeting also reviewed the overall progress of seasonal agricultural work. The minister reported on the sowing campaign: farmers are tending to wheat crops, and cotton sowing has begun across the country. Potatoes, vegetables, melons, and other food crops are being tended in the regions.

Summing up the meeting, the head of state emphasized the important role of the agricultural sector in the national economy and instructed regional leaders to ensure the completion of cotton sowing within the specified timeframe, as well as the proper care of wheat, vegetable, and melon crops.
