Turkmen mixed martial artist Abbas Abbasov will compete on April 17 within the framework of the LFA 231 (Legacy Fighting Alliance) tournament at the Mystic Showroom in Prior Lake, Minnesota. The athlete announced this in an interview with Turkmenportal.
Abbasov's current professional record stands at five wins and one loss. He's confident that a few more successful performances will pave the way for him to join the UFC, the world's largest mixed martial arts promotion.
A native of Turkmenistan and a former multiple-time national judo champion, he moved to the United States, where he continued his athletic career, transitioning to MMA. He is currently training at one of America's leading training centers, American Top Team in Florida.
Speaking about his idols, Abbasov singled out four fighters who had the greatest influence on him: Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko, UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, current light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, and legendary flyweight Demetrious Johnson.
