The meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held on May 22 in Ashgabat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan announced.

According to the department, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Serdar Muhammetdurdyev met with a delegation from the CIS Executive Committee to discuss preparations for the meeting. The Turkmen side emphasized its high priority to the upcoming meeting, viewing it as an important platform for further strengthening multilateral partnerships within the Commonwealth.

The parties discussed in detail the agenda and organizational and protocol aspects of preparation for the upcoming meeting as part of the draft protocol for coordinating the preparations for the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. Turkmenistan, as emphasized, will take all necessary measures to ensure proper preparation and the successful conduct of the meeting as part of its CIS Presidency in 2026.
