Turkmen female athletes successfully competed in the IV International Chess Tournament in Bukhara

Turkmenistan's female athletes successfully competed in the IV International Women's Chess Tournament, which took place from March 9 to 15 in Bukhara.

Mahri Agamyradova, a 10th-grade student at Secondary School No. 27 in Turkmenabat, won first place in the Challengers Group (Category B), demonstrating confident and consistent play throughout the tournament.

Enesh Arazmedova, a representative of the Ashgabat Specialized Chess and Checkers School, took 5th place in the Futures group (category C), demonstrating a high level of preparation and competitiveness.

Also in the Futures group, 12th-grade student of Secondary School No. 41 in Turkmenabat, Gulmira Seyilkhanova, finished the tournament in 7th place.

A total of nine countries were represented in the tournament: Austria, Belarus, India, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

The successful performance of the Turkmen chess players on the international stage confirms the progressive development of women's chess in the country and the high potential of young athletes, according to a press release from the Chess Federation of Turkmenistan.
