A meeting of the World Customs Organization (WCO) regional training centers will be held in Ashgabat on April 29-30. The event will be held at the Training Center of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan, according to the press service of the Turkmen agency.

Invitations have already been sent to participants. A roundtable discussion on further cooperation and collaboration between regional training centers is planned for the meeting.

Preparations for the event were discussed during a working videoconference of the regional training centers of the WCO European Region, with representatives from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Kyrgyzstan. The parties also exchanged experiences in customs personnel training, discussed priority areas for 2026, and discussed examples of collaboration with the WCO Regional Office for Capacity Building (WCO ROCB).

The Training Center at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan received the status of a WCO Regional Training Center in June 2025, opening up new opportunities for developing international customs cooperation and improving the training of industry specialists.
