A meeting between Ovezgeldi Jumanazarov, Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye, and Davud Gül, Governor of Istanbul, took place at the Istanbul Governorate building, according to the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the talks, the parties noted the consistent development of Turkmen-Turkish cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, scientific, educational, medical, and sports spheres.

The meeting participants emphasized the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect, and mutually beneficial partnership.

Special attention was paid to the preparation of events commemorating the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, as well as those held in line with the 2026 motto: "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Determined Winged Horses."
