On March 8, 41 Chinese citizens were evacuated from Iran through Turkmenistan. The Chinese citizens crossed the border through the Serahs checkpoint and were then taken to Ashgabat International Airport, from where they boarded a direct flight to Beijing. The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ashgabat informed Turkmenportal of this.

It should be noted that the evacuation of Chinese citizens from Iran via Turkmenistan was carried out in several stages. On March 4, the first group of 25 Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran to Turkmenistan departed early in the morning.

During the second phase, on March 7, 18 Chinese citizens crossed the Iranian-Turkmen border through the Serahs border crossing and arrived in Ashgabat, where they were accommodated in a hotel. They were later joined by three more Chinese citizens, bringing the total number of people evacuated during the second phase to 21.
