The Ambassador of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the Belgian Minister of State

Turkmen Ambassador Sapar Palvanov met with Belgian Minister of State Charles Michel and his wife, Amélie Derbaudranghien, according to the press service of the Turkmen diplomatic mission in Brussels.

During the visit, the guests were shown an exhibition showcasing Turkmenistan's cultural heritage, including carpet-weaving traditions, national jewelry, and the customs of the Turkmen people.

Following the introductory part of the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the European Union, as well as the development of bilateral contacts with Belgium. The need to strengthen the legal and institutional framework for relations between Ashgabat and Brussels was particularly emphasized.

Ambassador Palvanov expressed gratitude to Michel for his contribution to developing dialogue between the EU and Central Asia, including in the area of regional transport connectivity.

During the exchange of views, the parties commended the growing unity of Central Asian states and their desire to develop coordinated approaches to regional issues. Turkmenistan's role as a stable state contributing to peace and security in the region was particularly emphasized.

The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing dialogue and expanding cooperation.
