Key aspects of developing Turkmen-Chinese cooperation in education were discussed in Beijing

The 9th meeting of the Subcommittee on Humanitarian Cooperation within the framework of the Turkmen-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation was held in Beijing under the co-chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan G.Sh. Myradaleev and Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China Gao Zhen.

According to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the parties discussed priority areas such as education and human capital development, the Chinese language, and academic cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to academic mobility, the quality of personnel training, and the further institutionalization of cooperation.

According to data for the 2025-2026 academic year, more than 7 thousand Turkmen citizens are studying at universities in China. In this regard, the parties considered proposals to improve the academic readiness of candidates for study and the possible piloting of pre-assessment mechanisms.

Proposals for developing advanced training for Chinese language teachers and the joint development of teaching and learning materials were also considered.

Interest in expanding participation in scientific conferences and Olympiads was noted.

The parties agreed on the final wording and signed a Protocol, formalizing further steps to develop humanitarian and educational cooperation, the source noted.
