Turkmenistan intends to increase production of oil, gas condensate, and liquefied natural gas

On March 7, a meeting was held at the central building of Turkmenistan's oil and gas complex to review the results of the first two months of 2026 and the implementation of upcoming tasks.

During the meeting, the objectives set for the country's oil and gas complex at the regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on March 6 were discussed, according to the website oilgas.gov.tm.

The need was noted for further strengthening of comprehensive measures to increase the volume of hydrocarbon resource production, the efficient use of existing production capacities in the oil and gas sector, and the continuation of work to search for and develop new deposits.

Much attention was paid to increasing the production of oil, gas condensate and liquefied gas, intensifying work at the “Galkynysh” gas field, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of production facilities, increasing oil and gas production, and accelerating the pace of construction.

Particular attention was paid to the construction of the Serhetabad-Herat gas pipeline, known as "Arkadagyň ak ýoly," which is a key component of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.

The presentations emphasized the importance of further strengthening the oil and gas industry's resource base by identifying new promising fields and formations, actively implementing digital technologies in geological exploration, and implementing instructions to further diversify the industry.

The meeting featured speeches by Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the “Turkmennebit” State Concern Guvanch Agajanov, State Minister of Turkmenistan and Chairman of the “Turkmengaz” State Concern Maksat Babayev, Chairman of the “Turkmengeologiya” State Corporation Gurbangeldi Garlyev, as well as heads of associations, departments, institutions, and enterprises within the complex.
