Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a joint meeting with London Stock Exchange CEO Julia Ann Hoggett and UK Treasury Economic Secretary Lucy Rigby, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported.
During the talks, the Turkmen side emphasized London's role as one of the world's leading financial centers and expressed interest in expanding economic cooperation with its British partners, including attracting long-term capital for infrastructure and energy projects.
The parties noted the positive dynamics of trade and economic relations. Currently, approximately 30 enterprises with British capital are registered in Turkmenistan, operating in the construction, industrial, trade, and service sectors. The Turkmenistan-British Trade and Industry Council was identified as the key mechanism for coordinating bilateral cooperation.
Following the meeting, the Turkmen side expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the areas of sustainable finance, banking, auditing, insurance, and digital solutions.
