A rhythmic gymnastics training seminar was held at the Specialized Chess and Checkers School of the Ashgabat Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports. The event was organized by the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports jointly with the Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan, according to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The seminar was attended by approximately thirty specialists – judges, coaches, masters of sports, and young athletes – who came from various regions of the country.
The main topic of the training was the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) rules for the 2025–2028 Olympic cycle. Participants studied changes to the judging system, requirements for difficulty elements, artistry, and execution. A key innovation was the strengthening of the role of artistry and the compositional integrity of the program: from now on, experts will more strictly evaluate the musical accompaniment and the athlete's expressiveness, along with technical elements.
Following the seminar, participants completed certification testing and received certificates of readiness to participate in competitions in the upcoming season.
"The results of the seminar will be reflected in the training process in the very near future. This approach not only stimulates the development of our sport in the regions but also proves that domestic gymnastics meets the highest judging standards," said Allanazar Klychdurdyev, Secretary General of the Gymnastics Federation of Turkmenistan.
