More than 500 thousand zlotys (approximately 141 thousand USD) were stolen from the cash register of the office of Polish President Karol Nawrocki, the Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza reports, citing the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office.

According to Prosecutor Petr Skiba, the investigation is in its initial stages: the first witnesses are being questioned, and the exact extent of the damage and the number of victims are being determined. Details of the incident are not being officially disclosed due to the confidentiality of the investigation.

The publication reports that several employees of the presidential chancery may be involved in the theft. The investigation is ongoing.
