The results of the creative competition "Translation – Dialogue of Cultures" were announced at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.

According to the website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the main goal of the competition was to increase students' interest in their chosen profession and improve their translation skills.

The competition's objectives include producing a literary translation into Turkmen of previously untranslated and unpublished excerpts from works by famous foreign writers.

The competition jury included foreign language teachers from the organizing university, as well as translators from the editorial staff of the online magazine "Arkadagly Ýaşlar" ("Youth with Arkadag"), affiliated with the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.

The winners of the competition were:

Shemshat Azadova, second-year student in the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Literature (1st place),

Humay Muhaeva, fourth-year student in the Faculty of Russian Language and Literature (2nd place),

Arslan Tejenov, fourth-year student in the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Literature (3rd place),

Meryem Meredova, third-year student in the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Literature (3rd place),

Merjen Gubaeva, second-year student in the Faculty of European Languages and Literature (3rd place).

The winners and runners-up were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts on behalf of the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.

The best works will be recommended for publication in the online journal "Arkadagly Ýaşlar."
