Turkmenistan is modernizing the Ashgabat-Dashoguz highway

On February 20, the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan discussed modernizing the country's transport infrastructure. Deputy Prime Minister B. Annamamedov reported on plans to reconstruct one of the country's most important highways—the Ashgabat-Dashoguz highway, according to the "Watan" news program on Turkmen television.

Preparations are currently underway for an international tender for the construction of a renovated highway linking the capital with the Dashoguz province in the north of the country. A new bridge is also planned for this route.

The road reconstruction is aimed at modernizing the transport and road sector, improving the organization of freight and passenger transportation, and developing international transport cooperation.

After hearing the report, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the strategic importance of the Ashgabat-Dashoguz highway as one of the country's main arterial roads. The head of state approved the proposals and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure the necessary work is carried out.
