On 9 February 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the King of Thailand between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the King of Thailand (with residence in Kuala Lumpur), Mr. M.B. Mashalov, and the Director of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the King of Thailand, Mr. Chakkrid Krachaiwong, during which copies of the Ambassador’s Letters of Credence were handed over.

The Thailand side congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment to this responsible position, wished him every success, and expressed its readiness to provide assistance and support in the fulfillment of his diplomatic duties.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of high-level negotiations in the development of intergovernmental dialogue and discussed the possibilities of organizing visits and meetings between the Heads of State of the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain regular contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries with a view to further strengthening cooperation between Ashgabat and Bangkok.
