The Olympic Council of Asia signed a contract with Almaty to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games

On February 5, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) held a contract signing ceremony with the host city for the 10th Asian Winter Games, which will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, in 2029. The ceremony took place in Milan, Italy.

The signing ceremony was attended by the President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Sheikh Johan bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as members of the International Olympic Committee, presidents and representatives of international and continental federations, high-ranking officials and representatives of national Olympic committees. The contract was signed between the Olympic Council of Asia and the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the completion of institutional procedures approved for hosting the continental event.

The President of the Olympic Council of Asia emphasized that the signing of the contract demonstrates the organization's commitment to the development of winter sports in Asia. He also noted that the Asian Winter Games serve as an important platform for strengthening cooperation and solidarity between National Olympic Committees, in line with the OCA's vision for the development of Asian sport at all levels.

The 2029 Asian Winter Games in Almaty will be the tenth edition of this event. Broad participation from countries across the continent is expected, reflecting Asia's growing presence in winter sports and the ongoing development of its organizational and technical structures.
