Turkmenistan participates in the Asian Blind Union forum in Kuwait

From February 3 to 5, the Asian Blind Union (ABU) Executive Committee meeting is taking place in Kuwait. A delegation from the Turkmenistan Society of the Deaf and Blind, led by Merdan Reyimov, a member of the organization's Executive Committee, is participating in the event.

Representatives of relevant organizations from Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Jordan, and other Asian countries are participating in the forum. The main goal of the meeting is to analyze the work accomplished and identify areas for further development.

The meetings discuss strategic planning for 2026 and the development concept of the Asian Blind Union. A working group was established within the forum to amend the organization's Constitution.

The program includes thematic sessions on social marketing development, supporting entrepreneurship among people with visual impairments, and implementing assistive technologies. A separate session is devoted to the participation of women with visual disabilities in public life.

The Asian Blind Union works to protect the rights and promote social inclusion of people with visual disabilities in Asia.
