Turkmen cyclists will compete at the Asian Championships in Saudi Arabia

The Turkmenistan national cycling team will take part in the 45th Asian Road Cycling Championships, which will be held from February 5 to 13 in Saudi Arabia.

The Turkmen delegation includes seven athletes: two will compete in the elite category, and five in the junior category. All participants will compete for medals in individual time trials and road races.

Turkmenistan will be represented in the elite category by Candidate Master of Sports Berdimurat Yasyev (a third-year student at the Turkmen State Institute of Finance) and Begench Hudaygulyev (a third-year student at the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports).

The following first-class athletes will compete in the junior category: Daniil Nurlyev (12th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary School No. 6), Alexander Saushkin (11th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary School No. 6), Resul Byashov (11th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary School No. 61), Seyitbek Nurlayev (11th-grade student of Dashoguz Specialized Secondary School No. 27) and Angelina Ryabova (12th-grade student of Ashgabat Secondary School No. 36).

The delegation is led by Vitaly Zatsepin, Secretary General of the Cycling Federation of Turkmenistan. The coaching staff is represented by Igor Yuldashev (coach and instructor at the National Cycling Technical Center) and mechanic Kakabay Atayev (cycling coach and instructor at the Yzgant Sports School in the Geokdepe etrap).

Representatives from over 40 Asian countries, including China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Iran, will participate in the championship.

The competition is held under the auspices of the Asian Cycling Confederation. The 32nd Asian Junior Championships and the 14th Asian Para-Cycling Championships will be held concurrently with the main tournament.
