Works by young scientists from Turkmenistan won “gold” at the World Science Competition in Thailand

The work of two young scientists from Turkmenistan, Patma Igdyrova and Mekan Rozmuradov, received gold awards at the World Youth Scientific Invention and Innovation Competition (WYSII 2026), held from January 29 to February 2 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Both Turkmen participants are representatives of the Oguz han University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan, according to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

Patma Igdyrova received two top awards for her research work, "A Study of Methods for Extracting Biologically Active Compounds from Mandrake": the INTERACT 2026 INNOVATIVE EDUCATOR AWARD, a special award for innovation in education, and the GOLD AWARD, a gold award for the significance and innovative content of scientific research.

Mekan Rozmuradov, a third-year student in the Faculty of Chemistry and Nanotechnology, brilliantly presented his work, "Innovative Methods for Obtaining Eco-Friendly, Highly Stable Keratin Bioplastic Metals." His supervisor was Patma Igdyrova. His work was ranked among the top five in the "Ecology and Sustainable Development" competition category. For his research, Mekan received a gold medal—the competition's highest special award.

The World Youth Scientific Invention and Innovation Competition (WYSII) is one of the most prestigious events in the world of science and technology, annually bringing together talented young scientists, inventors, and researchers from around the world.
