Türkiye reports record tourism figures for 2025

Türkiye will welcome approximately 64 million foreign tourists in 2025, generating 65,2 billion USD in revenue, Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced at a press conference in Istanbul.

Compared to the previous year, tourist arrivals increased by 2,7%, and tourism revenues grew by 6,8%. The average tourist spend per night was 100 USD. Compared to 2017, the number of visitors increased by 68%, and revenues by 109%.

In the global ranking for tourist arrivals, Türkiye rose from 8th place in 2017 to 4th place by the end of 2024. In terms of tourism revenue, the country moved from 15th to 7th place.

The largest number of tourists arrived from Russia (6,9 million), Germany (6,75 million), and the United Kingdom (4,27 million).

The minister noted the development of various tourism sectors in the country, including cultural, religious, gastronomic, and ecotourism. Projects underway include archaeological research under the "Heritage for the Future" concept, the "Night Museums" project, and the development of cruise shipping and ski resorts.

Tourism revenue is projected to increase to 68 billion USD by 2026. To achieve this goal, new infrastructure projects and advertising campaigns are planned.
