The President of Turkmenistan held a meeting on the agro-industrial sector

Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via videoconference with Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev and regional governors to discuss the country's agricultural sector and the progress of seasonal agricultural work in the regions, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

The head of state emphasized the important role of the agricultural sector in the national economy and instructed that the implementation of agricultural measures, including the care of wheat crops and preparation for the spring sowing campaign, be strictly monitored.

Deputy Prime Minister T. Atahalliyev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the country. As reported, in order to grow a bountiful wheat harvest and provide the population with ample grain products, crops are being tended in accordance with agricultural requirements in the velayats. In preparation for laying the foundation for the future cotton harvest, plowing of the fields is in the final stages. Land leveling, ridge-forming, and irrigation are also continuing.

Work is underway to prepare high-quality cotton seeds for the season, both for producers and for the agricultural machinery that will be used in the sowing campaign. At the same time, plowing and leveling of land allocated for potatoes, vegetables, and melons is underway, as well as seed selection for the spring.

The President of Turkmenistan noted the important role of the agricultural sector in the national economy, providing the food and textile industries with a full supply of raw materials. The head of state emphasized that strict adherence to agricultural standards during seasonal operations contributes to achieving high results in agricultural production.
