Turkmenistan will make efforts to convene the Second Caspian Environmental Forum in 2026 within the framework of its CIS chairmanship. This was announced by Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Russia, Esen Aydogdyev, speaking at a meeting of the Economic Affairs Commission of the Commonwealth Economic Council.
"Turkmenistan will pay close attention to environmental issues and sustainable development, particularly cooperation in renewable energy and the protection of the Caspian region's biodiversity. In this regard, the state will make efforts to convene the Second Caspian Environmental Forum in 2026," the Turkmen Foreign Ministry quoted the diplomat as saying.
Aydogdyev emphasized that the humanitarian dimension will also occupy an important place on the chairmanship agenda. Cooperation in education, science, culture, tourism, and media interaction will contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and preserving the spiritual heritage of the peoples of the Commonwealth.
