Tesla's largest 2,3 GWh energy storage facility opens in Arizona

A large-scale energy storage system based on Tesla Megapack technology has begun operating in Maricopa County. The 560 million USD facility comprises 594 battery modules with a total capacity of approximately 2,3 gigawatt-hours, making it one of the largest such facilities in the world.

Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt announced the project's launch. It was implemented in partnership with Copia Power, a company specializing in energy infrastructure.

The system is designed to stabilize the regional power grid. During periods of low demand, the batteries store electricity and then release it during peak demand. This reduces the load on traditional power plants and improves power supply reliability.

Tesla Megapack technology is increasingly being used in infrastructure solutions related to the integration of renewable energy sources into industrial networks.
