Finland is shutting down landline telephone services

According to Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's largest telecommunications operator, Elisa, announced it would cease service to its landline customers starting in late June. Other operators in the country had previously made similar decisions.

According to the publication, by the end of 2024, there were 84 thousand landline telephone lines in Finland, 10 thousand of which were used by households. Statistics for 2025 are not yet available, but the number of such lines has continued to decline and is currently at a very low level.
