A course on renewable energy sources was held in Turkmenistan

The second stage of the 72-hour specialized course "Sustainable Energy Systems: Fundamentals and Application of Renewable Technologies" has concluded at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan. The first part of the program ran from September 2 to 5, 2025.

The course is organized within the framework of the project "European Union for Green Development in Turkmenistan: Policy Dialogue and Climate Action 2024–2029," funded by the EU and the German Federal Foreign Office. The project is implemented by GIZ.

The program aimed to improve the skills of Turkmen specialists in renewable energy sources. Participants gained practical knowledge on the implementation of green energy systems, methods for evaluating technological projects, and tools for developing sustainable energy infrastructure.

The training was conducted by experts from the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Upon completion of the course, GEIT instructors, staff from the Renewable Energy Research and Production Center, and specialists from the Ministry of Energy received official certificates.

Dr. Eduard Siemens, Director of the Doctoral Center for Engineering and Information Technology at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, noted the systemic nature of the cooperation and emphasized that the program has formed a knowledge base for the effective implementation of clean technologies in Turkmenistan.
