On Monday night, astronomers detected an X-class solar flare—the most powerful type of solar flare. The event was accompanied by a coronal mass ejection (CME) directed toward our planet, MIR24 reports.
According to astrophysicists' calculations, the plasma cloud will reach Earth around midday on Tuesday. Specialists at the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences predict the occurrence of G4 magnetic storms, which correspond to strong geomagnetic disturbances.
Such phenomena can affect the operation of satellite systems, radio communications, and navigation equipment. People sensitive to weather conditions are advised to exercise caution and take preventative measures if necessary.
