Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting on the development of the agricultural sector and instructed officials to ensure high-quality preparation for spring sowing, timely payments to agricultural producers, and the proper functioning of life support systems in the regions, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliyev and velayat hakims.

Addressing the meeting participants, the head of state emphasized the importance of ongoing seasonal agricultural work. He instructed that the plowing and leveling of cotton fields be carried out in accordance with agricultural standards, that special attention be paid to supplying producers with seed, and that high-quality seeds be selected.

The President also gave instructions on preparing agricultural machinery and equipment for the upcoming sowing season, continuing to maintain wheat fields in compliance with agricultural requirements, and harvesting sugar beets in the Mary velayat. Furthermore, preparations for the spring planting of potatoes, vegetables, and melons must be prioritized.

Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure timely payments between cotton and wheat producers and service organizations in the regions for the cotton, wheat, and rice harvests in Lebap velayat and sugar beet harvests in Mary velayat. It is also necessary to properly clean up areas, irrigation, and drainage systems, and prepare agricultural land for the spring season.

The head of state ordered that the proper functioning of heating systems in residential buildings, schools, and kindergartens, the provision of electricity, natural gas, and drinking water to residents of the velayats, and strict oversight of the construction of industrial and socio-cultural facilities in the regions be maintained.
