In 2025, residents of the Ak-Bugday and Kaakhka etraps of the Ahal velayat moved to new villages.
In the Ak-Bugday etrap, this is the modern village of Dovletli Mekan, in the Kaakhka etrap - Bagtly Zamana, where 400 families who moved there held a housewarming party, the newspaper "Turkmenistan" reported.
In addition to residential buildings with a high level of infrastructure support, the new settlements have secondary schools for 640 children, kindergartens for 320 children, health centers, and shopping centers.
New villages were built and commissioned as part of the successful implementation of the objectives set out in the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for Socioeconomic Development for 2022-2028" and the "National Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Transformation of Social and Living Conditions of the Population of Villages, Towns, Etrap Cities, and Etrap Centers for the Period up to 2028."
