On January 1, a New Year's celebration was held in the festively decorated hall of the Döwletliler Köşgi (Orphans' Palace), the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

During the celebration, the Palace's children received New Year's gifts on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Ayaz Baba (Father Frost), Garpamyk (Snow Maiden), the Horse, the symbol of 2026, and leaders and representatives of several ministries, agencies, and public organizations came to the large Christmas tree to wish the children a Happy New Year.

It's worth noting that the Palace's students participate in various clubs and sports sections, many of whom have won prizes at prestigious creative competitions and international festivals held in Turkmenistan and abroad. Among them is the "Joşgun" dance ensemble, winner of the Gulbaba Akyyev Special Children's Prize.

The children showcased their creative talents by performing a concert program for the guests.

Many of the hall's festive decorations were handmade by the children. Today, by the Christmas tree, they recited poems with gusto and emotional spontaneity, performed fiery dances, and sang inspiring songs.

The young talents' performance concluded with a circle dance around the Christmas tree, featuring Ayaz Baba, Garpamyk, and characters from Turkmen folklore and fairy tales from around the world.

To the children's great delight, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, presented them with gifts—various sweets, fresh fruit, educational supplies, interactive tools, and musical instruments.

At the end of the celebration, the students of "Döwletliler köşgi" expressed their sincere gratitude to the country's leadership for a happy, peaceful childhood, constant care and attention, as well as their best wishes and New Year's greetings, the source notes.
