Turkmenistan has announced the dates and locations for the FLEX international educational program's selection testing for the 2026–2027 academic year. Testing will take place in January 2026 in five regions of the country, including Ashgabat, Mary, Dashoguz, Turkmenabat, and Balkanabat.
The FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange) program is implemented by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, administered by the American Councils for International Education. It offers high school students from Turkmenistan the opportunity to spend an academic year in the United States, living with an American host family and studying at a local school.
The competition is open to high school students who are citizens of Turkmenistan and born between January 1, 2009, and May 31, 2010, have good or excellent grades, and are proficient in English. Students in their final years who are scheduled for military service are not eligible to participate.
According to the published schedule, testing will begin on January 4, 2026, in Mary and conclude on January 11 in Ashgabat. In all cities, the exam is scheduled to begin at 9:00. The exams will be held in public schools.
Additional information is available at the American Councils office in Ashgabat, on the organization's website, and by email.
