The WHO Country Office in Turkmenistan held an annual national meeting on the implementation of the “Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework in Turkmenistan”.
The event was organized at the Avaza National Tourist Zone in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan and aimed at strengthening national capacity in the field of influenza epidemiological surveillance and pandemic preparedness.
The meeting was attended by representatives of key health institutions, epidemiological and virological surveillance specialists, and veterinary sector experts to review the progress achieved under the Framework through 2025, according to a WHO press release.
The discussions focused on strengthening preparedness and response to potential influenza pandemics, improving national preparedness plans, and sharing experiences in implementing sentinel surveillance systems and updated influenza monitoring programs.
This meeting is being held as part of the Partnership Contribution to the Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework in Turkmenistan.
