Eleven documents were signed between the Turkmen and Japanese sides during the working visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Tokyo.
According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the head of state held a meeting with the heads of leading Japanese companies. The meeting was attended by executives and representatives of Sumitomo Corporation, Toyo Engineering Corporation, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., Muroosystems Corporation, ITOCHU Corporation, Tokyo Boeki Eurasia Limited, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., Mitsubishi Corporation, ARGONAVT Corporation, as well as Calik Holding, Gap Inşaat ve Diş Ticaret A.Ş.
Following the meeting, a signing ceremony for bilateral documents took place. These included:
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Road Transport of Turkmenistan and Sumitomo Corporation (Japan);
Memorandum of Cooperation between the State Concern Türkmengaz and Sumitomo Corporation Europe Limited;
Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan and Mitsubishi Corporation Machinery, Inc. (Japan) on cooperation in the field of effective use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in Turkmenistan through information exchange and cooperation;
Memorandum of Understanding between the State Committee of Turkmenistan for Television, Radio Broadcasting, and Cinematography and Sony Middle East and Africa FZE;
Cooperation Agreement between the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and Mizuho Bank, Ltd.;
Memorandum of Understanding between the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan and the School of Engineering, Tohoku University (Japan);
Memorandum of Understanding between the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan and the School of Engineering, Tohoku University (Japan) on student exchange;
A Memorandum of Understanding between the Oguz Khan University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan and the Graduate School of Science and Technology, Hirosaki University (Japan);
A Memorandum of Understanding between the State Concern Türkmenhimiýa and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, LTD on extending the maintenance period of the Ahal Gasoline-to-Natural Gas Plant;
Memorandum of Understanding between the State Concern Türkmenhimiýa and a consortium of Toyo Engineering Corporation (Japan) and Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Inşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Türkiye) on cooperation in establishing reliable operations within the framework of the second stage of production at the polymer plant in Kiyanly in the Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan;
Memorandum of Understanding between the State Concern Türkmenhimiýa and the group of companies Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Japan) and Gap Inşaat Yatirim ve Diş Ticaret Anonim Şirketi (Türkiye) and Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan) on cooperation in the project for the full construction of a urea production complex with a capacity of 1 million 155 thousand tons per year in the Turkmenbashi etrap of the Balkan velayat of Turkmenistan.
