Dubai is building a 93-kilometer-long underground pedestrian tunnel, The Loop, which is designed to cover the entire city.
According to urb.ae, the tunnel's infrastructure includes running and cycling paths, air conditioning systems, and dedicated areas for sports and recreation. The project envisions residents being able to reach any point in the city in approximately 20 minutes.
The project's main goal is to reduce exhaust emissions and improve the quality of life for residents. According to plans, by 2040, at least 80% of Dubai residents should switch to alternative modes of transport, abandoning personal cars.
