Turkmenistan's main New Year's tree, erected in the square in front of the “Älem” Cultural and Entertainment Center in Ashgabat, will be illuminated with multicolored lights. The tree-lighting ceremony, decorated with crystal snowflakes and garlands, will traditionally be one of the most vibrant events of the pre-New Year period for residents and visitors of the Turkmen capital.
These days, the square near the Christmas tree becomes a center of attraction for thousands of city residents, where true New Year's magic unfolds with the participation of folk groups, artists, and fairytale characters.
For children, the lighting ceremony of the main Christmas tree is one of the most anticipated and beloved holidays of the year. On this evening, the square is filled with an atmosphere of magic: cheerful songs are heard, round dances are performed, and the tree itself glows with thousands of multicolored lights, heralding the approaching New Year.
